Math to Mail.sas Mail Move Project

Timeline

Tuesday, December 9th, 2PM in 4C8: Information Meeting
Monday, January 5th, 5PM: Migration begins, hans.math, linux terms, and math users' mail.sas accounts become unavailable
Wednesday, January 7th, 9AM: hans.math and linux terms become available again, but mail files are not yet accessible
Thursday, January 8th, 9AM: Mail migration is complete. All email is now available in users' mail.sas accounts

Summary

After January 5, email will no longer function on the server hans.math.upenn.edu. Users of that computer will send and receive mail on mail.sas.upenn.edu instead. Your @math.upenn.edu email address will still work.

If you now use hans.math.upenn for email, you must change your email program or client settings after January 5th. For example, if you use SecureCRT, you need to change the server to mail.sas.upenn.edu. If you use Netscape or Eudora, you must change part of the client configuration. Instructions for Penn supported clients is below.
We recommend that you use IMAP rather than the older POP protocol [more configuration and IMAP Information (University of Chicago)]

If you find you have trouble after January 5, you can always use WebMail. Select mail.sas from the drop down server menu.
