As of Spring 2005, the mathematics department has set the following criteria for undergraduates to be inducted into the national Pi Mu Epsilon organization:
- complete at least two 300-level math department courses before initiation;
- attain an average of 3.50 for all math department courses;
- organize a math-related event (including planning, advertising, and attending) some time during the year, at the discretion of the faculty director.
The mathematics department will pay for your basic induction, which includes a certificate and a lifetime membership. When you become a member, you may also order a pin and other merchandise directly from the national Pi Mu Epsilon site.
