Recitation
Homework assigned at the end of each week will be due Friday the next week in my mailbox in the math office.
(The door to the office closes at 5. So make sure you turn it in before that time. Please do not leave homework at my door.)
In each recitation, we will review topics from the previous week's
lecture and discuss the problems from the homework due that week.
We will NOT talk about the topics (from lecture) of the present week.
Recitation is worth 30% of your final grade.
Grading
Homework Grade
I will grade one problem selected at random from your homework each week and there will be points for completeness.
If at the end of the term you feel you have been consistently unlucky
in this scheme, say, I always chose to grade that one problem you
didn't do, you can appeal to me and we can do something about it.
The lowest two homework scores will be dropped.
Homework grades will be posted on Blackboard.
Homework is worth 20%of your final grade.
Participation grade
Your attendence, asking and answering questions during recitation and
what you contribute to the solution of problems we discuss in the
recitation will make up this grade. Also, you can volunteer to come up
to the board and help solve a problem or review a topic from class. By
the end of the term, you should have done this once or twice. Please do
not put this away till the end!
Participation is worth 10% of your final grade.
