The final exam is now available here. It is due on Thursday at noon. You may email me the exam, or drop it off at my office or in my mailbox. Good luck.

Two references for handlebody theory are:
  Milnor's ``Morse Theory''
Gompf and Stipsicz's ``4-Manifolds and Kirby Calculus'', starting at chapter 4.
Lastly, note that the next homework is up.
[05-Feb-14]

There was a typo in homework question 5. The question is concerning the wedge product of two circles (as in Hatcher), and not the smash product (as originally written on the homework). A corrected pdf is now available on the homework page.
[08-Jan-14]

The principal text for the course is Hatcher's Algebraic Topology. A pdf is available on his webpage webpage. It is also available from Amazon for $40 or so.
Other text books that you may wish to look at are Munkres' Elements of Algebraic Topology and Bredon's Geometry and Topology.
