1. The wave equation - initial and initial/boundary value problems for the wave equation, forms of solutions (separated solutions, Dalembert's solution), proofs of uniqueness.

2. Be prepared to discuss the following problems in class:

   • Page 38 (p. 36 in the first ed), problems 1, 3, 9
   • Page 41 (p. 40 in the first ed), problems 1, 2, 3
3. Write up solutions of the following to hand in:
   • Page 19, problems 7, 10
   • Page 25, problem 6 (this is page 24, problem 5 in the first ed)
