Place n dots at random on the circumference of a circle. Then draw all the lines connecting pairs of the dots. (If three of your lines meet at a point, then your dots were not sufficiently "random"). For instance, if you do 4 dots, you get 6 lines as shown below. The lines divide the circle into pieces. How many pieces?
