Math 103 Assignments--Spring 2009
NO LATE HOMEWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Assignments may be done in groups of 1-3 students. All members of the group are individually and severally liable for each assignment. Each week, a different member of the group should be the designated "scribe" who prepares the final "turn-in" version of the group's work. While the group is to work ALL of the core problems and others as assigned), only those problems listed as "problems to be turned in" must actually be given to your TA. These will typically be the core problems listed on the course syllabus plus one or two others.
All problems handed in are to include, where appropriate, a written explanation of the answer; computations alone are not sufficient. The point is that, once you leave Penn, you will be expected to communicate the results of your work--including your methods as well as your actual results--and this is intended to give you some early practice at such communication.
The Assignments:
Each assignment lists the readings in the text (and other materials) for a given week and also lists the problems which are to be turned in at recitation that week.
