The course covers Chapters 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12 (we skip Chapter 10).
Time and place
Lectures: MWF 1-2pm, DRLB A1.
Office hours Erik van Erp: Monday 11-12noon, Wednesday 2-3pm, or by
appointment.
Exams
Three mid-term exams will be given in class, on the following
dates:
Mid-term I: Monday, February 6 (Chapters 6 / 7.1-7.5)
Mid-term II: Friday, March 17
(Chapters 7.7 / 8.1-8.5, 8.7, 8.8 / 9.1, 9.2)
Mid-term III: Monday, April 17
(Chapter 11, excluding 11.5 / 12.1-12.7)
Since all mid-term exams will be given in class, there will be no
make-up exams!
Final exam: Thursday, April 27, 12noon-2pm, building SD-DH, room 350.
The final exam is comprehensive, and common among all Math 104
students.
Grade
The final grade for the course will be a composite of the homework and
exam scores.
There are no quizzes.
The formula used to determine the final grade is as follows:
Score = 17% Homework + 17% for each of the three Mid-Term Exams + 32%
Final Exam.
