Welcome to the fourth semester of calculus.
Our final exam is on Monday December 20 from 4 to 6 pm in DRL
A4. The final will cover the entire course but will be heavily
weighted towards the complex analysis material. You might find
this practice test useful. (The
practice test might be slightly long compared to the actual test.)
Here are the answers to the practice
test. The best way to prepare for the test is to study the class
notes, all homework assignments and the practice test. If you
have extra time take a look at the core problems and the appropriate
sections in the book.
Our second test will be in class on November 9. It will
cover chapters 13, chapter 14 (except the parts of 14.2 dealing
with Bessel functions) and sections 15.2 to 15.4. You might find
this outline of the material on the
test useful. Also you might find this practice
test useful. Here are the answers
to the practice test. The best way to prepare for the test is
to study the class notes, homework assignments 4 through 7 and
the practice test. If you have extra time take a look at the core
problems and the appropriate sections in the book.
Our first test is on Monday October 11 from 6:30 pm to
8 pm in ANNS 110. It will cover chapters 12 (except 12.4 and the
part of 12.6 on Bessel Series), 5.1 and the part of 5.3 dealing
with Legendre's equation. You might find this outline
of the material on the test useful. Also you might find this practice
test useful. Here are the answers
to the practice test. The best way to prepare for the test is
to study the class notes, homework assignments 1, 2 and 3 and
the practice test. If you have extra time take a look at the core
problems and the appropriate sections in the book.
Here is an extra example of a Sturm-Liouville
problems worked out.
