I am a fifth-year graduate student in the Mathematics Ph.D. program at the University of Pennsylvania. I received my undergraduate degree in Maths and Stats from The University of the Witwatersrand. I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. .
My research interests are in the areas of probability and combinatorics. More particularly in the area of reinforced processes. My advisor is Robin Pemantle. .
This semester I'm a grader for Math 530, "Mathematics of Finance" under Robert Strain My office hours are by appointment. Previously I've been a TA for the following courses: Math 202 (Proving things in Analysis) in Fall 2011, Math 203 (Proving things in Algebra) in Spring 2010, Math 170 (Ideas in mathematics) in Fall 2008 Math 241 (Calculus 4) in Spring 2009 and Math 104(Calculus 1) in fall 2008. I've also TAed some courses at Wits. Statistics 3 (3rd year statistics for statistics Majors, Janurary 2006 through May 2007) and Statistics 414/511 (Janurary 2006 through May 2006, A course for non-statisticians that needed to use data in there research). I was the sole instructor for the following courses Math 115 (calc 3 with matricies and probability) in summer 2011 Math 170 (ideas in mathematics) in summer 2010 .
Outside of mathematics I've done a fair bit of Powerlifting. Even being lucky enough to represent South Africa at the 2006 junior and 2008 open world championships (IPF).
