Homework will be due on Fridays in lecture. Dr. Lieberman has announced that individual problems will not be graded, but full credit will not be given for late, sloppy, or unstapled work. Collaboration on homework is strongly encouraged, but students must write their own solutions. Remember, the way to learn mathematics is to work problems! If you have questions about the homework, feel free to ask in recitation, in office hours, or via email.

    Quizzes

Quizzes will be given during recitation, at the end of each class. Each quiz will focus on material from the previous week's homework. Quizzes will be graded and returned the following week in recitation. The lowest quiz grade for each student will be dropped.

Please come to the recitation in which you are enrolled, unless you make other arrangements with me. If you know in advance that you will miss a day, let me know by Monday of the week you will miss if you want to come to recitation on the other day (Tuesday or Thursday) that I hold recitation that week. Otherwise, there will not be make-up quizzes.

Quizzes will contain one or two problems like (but not exactly the same as) those on the previous week's homework. If you are keeping up with the homework, quizzes should not pose major challenges.
