The US Geographical Society provides up-to-date data on the Schuylkill water flow levels at the Schuylkill Water Flow Site. Since the Schuylkill is a large river and boathouses are located near a lock, rowing is only permitted as long as the water flow remains below 13000 cubic feet per second. For Novices, the threshold is 8000 cubic feet per second.
