SYLLABUS
-
Final Exam:
The final exam is cumulative and covers ALL of the material in the
course. The final exam is common
for all sections of Math 114.
The final exam will count for 30% of your final course grade.
-
Midterm Exams:
There will be four closed book midterm exams. The best three will
count toward your final grade. You are not allowed to use any
calculators during the midterm and final exams but you can prepare and
use one 8.5 by 11 sheet of paper (both sides) with notes of your
choice. Each midterm will count as 20% of your final grade.
-
Recitation Quizzes:
Every week during the last 5 minutes of your recitation you will be
given a quiz on a homework problem from the previous week assignment.
The quizzes will be graded but the two worst scores will not be used
in calculating your final quiz grade. The quizzes will
count as 10% of your final grade for the class.
-
Homework assignments:
The homework problems will be assigned every week. Homework will
not be graded. However, the problems in the quizzes will be drawn from
the homework.
