General Information for my section:

Lecture class meetings are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. We are scheduled to meet in MEYH B3.
Recitation classes are on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. You must be enrolled in and attend one of the recitation sections.
My office hours are
Wednesdays 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Fridays 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
in DRLB 4N45 (my office). Please feel free to drop by at other times and I will be glad to see you if possible or make an appointment.

Basic Ground Rules:
The final grade is based on four parts: Final exam (35%), two midterm exams (20% the first, and 30% the second), and everything else (15%). Everything else includes regular homework, computer homework, the occasional quiz in recitation, etc..
Homework will be assigned on Thursday, to be turned in on Friday, the following week, during lecture. You will find it helpful to use the computer to check some of your homework.

Homework will ocasionally contain instructions for reading. Make sure you do the reading before the class for which it is assigned. I will assume you have done so.

Make use of our office hours, Math Center, Maple Center, Tutoring Center, etc...
- First midterm: Wednesday, October 14, 2009, 7:00PM - 8:30PM, in DRLB A1.
- Second midterm: Wednesday, November 18, 2009, 7:00PM - 8:30PM, in DRLB A1 .
- Final exam: Wednesday, Monday, December 21, 2009, 9:00am - 11:00am, Room to be announced .
Grading notes: At the end of the semester, everyone who has not withdrawn from the class will get a grade. Incompletes will not be given to avoid F's.

LATE WORK (homework, Maple, etc..) will NOT be accepted.

Midterm 1 covers sections 10.5, 10.6, 13.1-13.6, 11.5, 14.1,14.2, 14.4 (Motion in space: velocity and acceleration).
Midterm 2 covers sections 14.3, 15.1-15.8, 16.1-16.4 .
Special Office Hours: Tuesday, November 17, 2009 3:00PM -4:00PM in DRLB 4N45.
For the midterms, you may use two sides of an 8.5 x 11 standard size sheet of (handwritten) notes. No calculators, cell phones, etc. are allowed. There are no Maple problems on the midterm exams.
