James Stewart, Calculus. Brooks/Cole, fifth edition, 2003
The course covers chapters: 1 through 6

Exams
Common mid-term exams will be given in ''after class hours'', on the following dates:
Mid-term I:   10/09: 6pm, covers: 2.1-3.6(skip 3.4), 1 page of formulas allowed, Location: LOGN 17 (275)
Mid-term II:  11/01: 6pm, location: DRLB A8 (137)
Mid-term III:  11/29: 6pm, location: STIT B6 (246).
Final exam:  12/14, 12pm-2pm, room LRSM (Laboratory for Research on the Structure of Matter)
(auditorium)
(see the BlackBoard for info),

The final exam is common to all sections of 103. After the exam, the instructors of the three sections will decide together on a letter grade for the *final exam* (just the final) for each student. I will use these letter grades to determine everyone's ultimate letter grade as follows: if (for example) 35% of my section gets an ``A'' on the final, 30% a ``B'' and 30% a ``C'', then roughly the best 35% of the class (according to the total numerical mark discussed earlier) will get an ``A'', the next 30% (roughly) a ``B'' and the next 30% a ``C''. Note that getting a ``C'' on the final is not the same as getting a ``C'' for the course --- your grade for the course is determined by your cumulative performance on quizzes, homework, and midterms as well as the final, and the letter grade for the final is used only to determine what proportion of each section should get ``A'''s, ``B'''s et cetera.

Previous midterms: midterm#1, midterm#2, midterm#3;

Grade
The formula used to determine the final grade is as follows:
Score =60%(midterms)+30%(final)+10%(quizzes+homework)
Individual grades should be accessible through the BlackBoard website.
