applications that arise in your homework, practice problems, etc., and
for which any important formulae will be supplied).
Essential: arc length, surface area,
center of mass, probability densities.

There will be a scheduled makeup exam 7:30-9:00
PM on
the same dates as the exam. Arrangements to take the makeup exams must
be made with
your lecturer in advance.
Exam problems will, as much as possible, be taken
from the pool of past exam problems and from the posted practice exam
problems.
At least one week before each exam, we will announce
which sections of the textbook are covered on the exam. The final exam
is cumulative, with somewhat greater weight given to sections not
covered on the two midterm exams.
Some of the material covered
in previous semesters is not covered this semester. In these cases, we
will let you know which topics you may safely ignore, but we will not
be giving a problem-by-problem guide to which old exam problems
correspond to discontinued material. For any material in the present
semester not adequately covered by past exam problems, practice exam
problems will be posted here within a few weeks.
No quiz in recitation the week of the exam.
You will be allowed both sides of a standard 8.5" X 11" sheet of
paper (cheat sheet) on which you can
put anything you desire. It must be hand-written (I'll allow you
to shrink down a version of the unit circle).
You'll
find that
making the cheat sheet is an excellent way to review the material.
No calculators of any kind are permitted on the
exam.
Your student ID should be on your desk during the
exam.
The 90 minute time period for the midterm exams
cannot be extended because someone else has the room after we do.
Don't
forget about the Sunday Review
taking place from 7-9 pm in DRL A1
