Final Exam Information
The final exam will be on December 12, 9-11am in LEVH 101, Levine Hall on Walnut between 33rd and 34th Streets.
There will be (at least) 2 review sessions, one given by me on Friday evening, December 7 from 5-7pm, DRL A6 and one given by Elena Bogdan Monday December 10 from 6:30-8:30pm, DRL A8.
Please read carefully topics covered on the exam (including classification of separable equations ), since you will be tested on some sections that were not covered on the homework and there are 4 sections that are excluded (such as the logistic model and predator/prey systems). These documents give you a clue to the exam topics (such as under and over damping).
I recommend that you do the following two exams written by Prof. Pemantle and Prof. Temkin:
Practice Final 2007 - Solutions
Practice Final 2004 - Solutions

General Rules

The ground rules governing this class are posted on Pr. Pimsner's Math 114 webpage
Also, valuable information including the syllabus and old exams can be found on the general Math 114 webpage

There are going to be two midterm exams and a final. They are scheduled as follows:
Midterm I : October 10th - Solutions
Midterm II : November 12th, 7-8:30pm - Solutions
Final Exam : December 12th, 9-11am, LEVH 101
To study for the midterms, it is a good idea to do the core problems in addition to the homework, past exams and more exams .
Make sure that you understand the homework and quiz solutions .

Your final course grade will be assigned according to your performance on these exams as well as your performance on homework and weekly quizzes. The quizzes will be given in recitation and will contain representative problems from the covered material. The first quiz will be Tuesday, September 11. Your grades will be based on 40% for the final exam, 20% for each midterm and 20% for the quizzes and homeworks. There will be problems assigned each week and they will be posted on the Homework Schedule. You are required to turn in homework every Monday in Pr. Pimsner's lecture class starting September 17.
