Maple/Calculus Lab Manual for Math 103/104/114/115
Homework: Homework assignments will be posted on the web every Monday, and will be due in lecture the next Monday. Typically assignments will include one Maple problem. You must write your TA's name and time of your recitation for your grade to be properly recorded.
Quizzes: Quizzes based on homework will be given out weekly in recitation. Two take-home Maple projects will be given and counted as quizzes.
Midterms: Two evening midterms will be given.
Thurs., Oct. 3, 7:00-8:30 pm, and Thurs., Nov. 7, 7:00-8:30 pm.
Calculators will not be allowed, but a one-page, double-sided, handwritten formula sheet will be permitted. Questions will be both multiple choice and long answer.
Final Exam: Fri., Dec. 13, 1:30-3:30 pm.
It will be cumulative and multiple choice. Same rules as for midterms.
Grading: 5% homework, 20% quizzes/Maple, 20% each midterm, 35% final exam.
No makeups will be given for missed quizzes or homework, but the lowest two of each will be dropped. (Maple projects cannot be dropped.)
Schedule: Up to first midterm: Sec. 9.4-9.6, 9.8-9.9, 10.1-10.5
Up to second midterm: Sec. 10.6-10.7, 12.1-12.5, 12.7-12.9, 13.1
Up to final: Sec. 13.3, 13.6, A.3, 16.2-16.5
