The
Course Schedule describes which sections
of the text will be discussed in lecture each day, based on the
Course Syllabus. The syllabus has
a list of core homework
problems for
each section of the text.
Grading notes: At the end of the semester, everyone who has not withdrawn from the
class will get a grade. Incompletes will not be given to avoid F's.

The dates for the hour exams are tentative
Quizzes (weekly in recitation): 25%
Hour exam 1 (Fri. Feb. 10): 15%
Hour exam 2 (Wed. March 14): 15%
Hour exam 3 (Wed. April 18): 15%
Final Exam (Friday, May 4, 2- 4 p.m.): 30%
There will not be make-up mid-term exams. If
you miss a mid-term for a reason which is
outside of your control, I will simply count your
other mid-terms and final more heavily.
The last day to drop a class is Friday, Feb 17. See

Each week you should try to do the homework problems
listed on the course syllabus for the section of the
text which is being dicsussed. This will provide practice
for the the quizzes and next hour exam. Homework will not
be collected or graded. However, your T.A. will correct and
return to you any written solutions to any homework problem you
give them, and they will discuss the homework in recitation
in order to provide feedback.

Extra Credit Problem
This problems can be turned in at the final exam. Work
on extra credit problems will be used to decide cases in which
a course grade is in between two letter grades.
