Math 210 - Fall 2010, Announcements

Announcements

The date of the mid-term is Oct. 8.

The math department is working on a questionnaire about how to improve calculus at Penn. Here are some approaches to doing this which have been suggested. Are there others which should be on the questionnaire?

  1. Find a more attractive building than DRL.
  2. Discuss more connections between math and the real world.
  3. There should be more consistency between different sections of the same course.
  4. There should be better communication about the expectations of professors.
  5. More senior faculty should teach calculus.
  6. There should be more options for each course, e.g. math-major and non-math-major versions.
  7. Eliminate purely multiple choice exams.
