SYLLABUS
- Homework:
Homework is an extremely important part of this course. Homework
problems will be posted bi-weekly each Monday on this page. The
homework assigned during a certain week is due in your TA's mailbox by
5pm on Thursday the following week. Write your own soultions carefully
and in detail since the homework is worth 70% of your final grade for
the class. A primary function of the homework is to train your
mathematical thinking and to teach you to formulate and present
rigorous mathematical arguments. It is extremely important that you
attempt the homework on your own and even if you discuss soultion
methods with your classmates, other graduate students, or faculty you
should write up your own solutions. Copying solutions from internet
resources, blogs, or posting homework questions on forums like
MathStackexchange or MathOverflow is strictly prohibited and will be
considered CHEATING.
- Exams: We will
have a take home final exam which will cover all
material from the semster. The final exam is worth 30% of your class
grade.
