Traditional geometry takes place over the real or complex numbers, and relies on the completeness of those fields.  Another complete field is the field of p-adic numbers, and geometry can be done in that context as well.  After discussing the p-adics and their geometry, I will describe how these ideas can be used to solve algebraic problems in such situations as Galois theory and the theory of quadratic forms.
