Several classes of singular differential equations, or flat connections, can be reformulated as representations of Lie algebroids, and by integration, correspond to Lie groupoid representations. This perspective allows us to introduce new tools, such as Morita equivalence, groupoid cocycles, and averaging techniques, to the study of these equations. In this talk, I will discuss the case of flat connections with logarithmic singularities, where this approach leads to geometric proofs of Riemann-Hilbert style classification results.
