Marcus Michelen

Math PhD Student

I'm a fourth year PhD candidate in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Engineering at The Cooper Union in 2014, where I majored in Interdisciplinary Engineering and minored in Mathematics.

My primary subject interest is probability, and my advisor is Robin Pemantle. Most recently, I have been studying percolation on random trees as well as the distribution of coefficients of polynomials based on the location of their roots. More broadly, I am interested in (mostly) discrete probability and analytic combinatorics.
