Algebraic structures, such as central simple algebras and quadratic forms, play an important role in understanding the arithmetic of fields. In this talk, I will explore some open questions about these structures and connections to problems in number theory and algebraic geometry, and describe some modern approaches rooted in geometry to approach them.
