If we lived in a small 3-manifold, we would see copies of ourselves reflected in the sky in fractal-like patterns. These patterns can be described by finite subdivision rules, a relatively new area of mathematics. We will introduce finite subdivision rules and show some examples arising from 3-manifolds.
