We consider NLS set on the torus [-L,L]^2, and we examine the limit when L goes to infinity, and the size of the solution goes to zero (this is classical in the theory of weak turbulence). This gives rise to a new equation, distinct from NLS, and with very striking properties. This is joint work with E. Faou (INRIA) and Z. Hani (NYU).
