Mackey and Tambara functors are "equivariant generalizations" of abelian groups and commutative rings, respectively, and thus play a foundational role in equivariant homotopy theory. However, the theory of Mackey and Tambara functors can be developed in a more general context than just G-equivariance, and these more general Mackey and Tambara functors have appeared in (e.g.) recent work in motivic homotopy theory. In this talk, I'll discuss ongoing work to generalize the theory of Mackey and Tambara functors to the context of LCC categories, with an eye toward future applications.
