A combinatorial statistic is a mapping over a given set conveying clear combinatorial meanings. In this talk we provide a general view of certain perspectives of this fascinating object, such as combinatorial identities interpretations, the art of subsequence reduction and the local-global phenomenon. Emphasis will be placed on ideas, methodology and insights.
