We introduce the notions of elliptic curves and elliptic fibrations. Motivated by applications to physics, we take a closer look at semistable SLn(C)-bundles on these varieties. To this end, we give an explicit description of the moduli space of semistable vector bundles, showing how the case of curves generalises to fibrations.
