This year we have 12 new members of the department. In order to let them introduce themselves, we will start the colloquium series with two "very short talks" events on the first two Wednesdays – Sep 9 and 16. These events will be modeled after the 5 minute talks at MSRI and other similar events. We want to use this for the incoming faculty and postdocs, and possibly also a few grad students, to introduce themselves to the department.
