In this talk, I'll introduce some of the essential ingredients of classical gauge theory such as connection 1-forms and holonomy. I'll define one of its most important invariants for physics, namely the Wilson loop. As a concrete example I'll try to show how to compute these quantities for the Hopf bundle.
