Originating in physics, Yang-Mills theory has become a cornerstone of modern mathematics, influencing a wide range of fields. In my talk, I will present Yang-Mills theory in the context of probability, highlighting central questions and recent advances in the area. In particular, I will discuss the role of stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) in these developments and survey some of the recent progress in this field.
