Our own Ellen Urheim has been named the American Association for the Advancement of Science Judicial Branch Fellow for 2024-25. Ellen, who graduated with a Penn Math Ph.D. in 2022, currently serves as the American Mathematical Society Congressional Fellow, working in the office of Senator Bob Casey. She will spend the next year at the Federal Judicial Center, working at the intersection of law and science as federal courts increasingly face litigation that requires the expertise of scientists and engineers.
