The path-ordered exponential is a particular series that appears in a variety of different areas of physics and mathematics, describing some of the most fundamental quantities in physics such as solutions of the Schrödinger equation, Feynman diagrams, and holonomy in the theory of connections. In this talk I will discuss these different topics and (if there's time) some interesting work that's been done on Wilson loops in theoretical physics.
