I will discuss the mathematical study of supersymmetric quantum field theory and the idea of "twisting": a procedure from which a large class of mathematically tractable examples of quantum field theories can be constructed and analyzed. I'll talk about the mathematical ingredients that go into this construction and some of the examples that arise, and along the way I'll discuss connections to geometric representation theory.
